Online Safety

With so many of us online these days it is important to know some safety. This booklet has a lot of great information:  click here to read “Talking with Kids about Being Online,” a Federal Trade Commission booklet

When young adults and children learn positive online behaviors early-on, social media can be used in productive ways and can effect positive change.

- Key Points:
  • Kids need to think critically and act in a way they can be proud of
  • Listen and talk about feelings and be honest
  • Teens and young adults should exercise judgement about being safe online and act with manners and positive ethics.
  • Not everything you see online is true
  • Information or images that are shared can be seen far and wide
  • People online may not be who they appear to be or say they are
  • Once something is posted online it is nearly impossible to "take it back"
  • Be cautious with who you friend online
  • Cyberbullying and rumors can ruin people's lives and hurt their feelings
  • Children under 13 are protected by COPPA to protect their personal information

How to Draw Facial Proportions

https://youtu.be/1kHzAh9sCH4
Step-by-step video
Her tutorial covers the basic guidelines for facial proportions. Learning where features are placed on the face and how to use our pencil as a measurement tool allows us to create more accurate portraits. In this video, I am using a plain old HB pencil! Try to stay within the HB-2B range for general sketching. Too hard of a graphite (the higher the H, the harder the graphite) is really light and can indent the paper easily if you press too hard. The higher the B, the softer the graphite, which will create darker marks!
